Vancouver Island Exhibition (VIEX) Show Results for August 21-22, 2010

We all had a fun time at VIEX this year as always.

The judges this year were Cliff Dick and Jan Coffelt. We always have fun with these judges especially Cliff Dick.

Saskia's Show Results:

Saturday

Mini Rexes judged my Jan Coffelt on Saturday.

Mini Rex Black Sr. Doe "Amber" Placed 2/2 in both breed class and fur class.
Mini Rex Black Jr. Doe "Gabby" Placed 3/3 in Jr. Doe class. Just a baby couldn't compete.
Mini Rex Black Jr. Buck Placed 2/3. Also very young but the judge really liked him.

Mini Rexes judged my Cliff Dick on Sunday.

Mini Rex Black Sr. Doe "Amber" Placed 1/2 in both breed class and fur class. Best of Breed. She got her 3rd leg and is now a Grand Champion. She also won the fur class.
Mini Rex Black Jr. Doe "Gabby" Placed 3/3 in Jr. Doe class. Cliff liked her and said to keep her.
Mini Rex Black Jr. Buck Placed 2/2. Cliff loved this little guy but just couldn't compete against the older junior. He loved his top line.

Coleton's Rabbit:

Coleton showed a Harlequin Jr. Doe #TRB3 His Cavy Sow is pregnant and due very soon so nothing to show and he liked this Jr. Doe. He named her "Sesamie"

On Saturday Cliff Dick judged the Harlequins.

Harlequin-Magpie (Black) Jr. Doe TRB3. Placed 6/7 on Sat and placed the same under Jan Coffelt 6/7.

Tammi's Showings:

Mini Rex:
Saturday under Jan Coffelt

Black Sr. Doe #K80T Placed 1/2 and won BOV and Best of Breed. Annie earned her 2nd leg. She also won Breed fur class 1/2. Sunday she was DQ for small white spot, but Cliff loved her and told me she would have been Best of Breed.

Black Jr. Buck SB60 DQ for overweight. He is a big boy but a nice boy. Will breed him back to his mom Annie on September 8th. Did not show him on Sunday.

Mini Lops:
Saturday under Cliff Dick.
Jr. Buck PC07 (Chocolate) Placed 7/8. He will be used in my chocolate program. I know he can't quite compete against the other Awesome Mini lops here on the Island but its a project and he will be good addition to my project.
Jr. Doe CX placed near 5th I believe. I can't find her show comment card. She placed 5th on Sunday under Jan Coffelt.

Harlequins:

Under Cliff Dick

Magpie Sr. Buck OSV2 "Malachi" Placed 2/2 both days.
Magpie Jr Buck TRB0 Placed near bottom. Saskia has lost my comment cards. He was either 5 or 7/7.
Magpie Jr. Buck TRB2 Placed 1/7 for his 1st leg win. He also won Best Opposite Sex (BOS). Cliff loved this little guy and said he is a definite keeper. He even loved the other guy and said to keep in breeding program, but I just don't have the cage space for 2 bucks out of same litter. TRB0 is 4-Sale. TRB2 won 1/7 Jr. Buck class again under Jan Coffelt but he did not win BOS this time. Barb's Sr. Buck beat him. However, he did win a 2nd leg. Now he just needs 1 more leg to be a Grand Champion.

Magpie Jr. Doe #0v6 Place 3/3 both days.
Magpie Jr. Doe #TRb1 Placed 5/5 both days.

I am pleased with how we all did. There is always room for improvement but our first big show since getting back into the rabbits and with some of our own babies.
